Det Sgt Stephen Farley, the officer who arrested repeat rapist Lee Hill on December 15 last year, said after seeing him get three life terms:

‘I think he is an evil man and he is a danger to women.

He is a burglar and an opportunistic rapist.

If a woman is there she is not safe.

‘Although the sentence is a heavy one I feel it is necessary because he will continue to be a danger to woman for many many years.

‘

Det Sgt said his latest victim’s impact statement was the most harrowing he has ever read:

‘It shows the shattering effect such an offence can have on someone.

She has not got over it yet and she will not get over it for some considerable time.

‘At least after todays events she will be able to get on with her life.

Her family and friends have been supportive but they can only do so much.

‘It really has been a horrendous ordeal for her not only on the night of the offence but since.

‘

It emerged that Lee was also suspected of carrying out a house raid in late October last year in Staines in which the intruder, wearing a stocking, threatened a woman in her home with a knife.
