A jealous bully who put his former girlfriend through a ‘humiliating’ five hour sex attack after accusing her of being unfaithful was jailed for 10 years today (THURS).
Obsessive Anthony Christian, 21, was so angry with the petite raven-haired mum that he took revenge by raping her four times.
Christian, a mechanic, started off the marathon attack shortly after having a ‘vodka breakfast’ with the 21-year-old model.
After losing his temper he subjected her to a degrading and sordid ordeal in her Fulham home.
Following his arrest he then terrified the young woman by holding a pillow over her three-year-old daughter’s face and threatening to suffocate her if the victim didn’t drop the charges.
He denied rape, indecent assault and intimidating a witness but was found guilty by a jury at the Old Bailey today.
Sentencing him, Judge Stephen Robbins said: ‘You are a young man with a violent streak prompted by jealous temper.
‘When your temper is up you become a bullying violent type.
You humiliated your victim sexually, and later terrified her daughter by holding a pillow over her face.
‘This would be a traumatic experience for any woman let alone a three-year-old child.
Sometime after their relationship ended the defendant visited his former partner on July 16 last year, said Patricia Lees, prosecuting.
She said: ‘He became increasingly angry when he thought she had been having some sort of intimacy with other men.
‘He raised the question of her sleeping with other men.
‘
Christian, of Woodville Road, Thornton Heath, stayed in the living room overnight and the next morning the two had vodkas and Coke for breakfast.
He became argumentative and started shouting about the dishes in the sink and about her tattoo, jurors heard.
He began accusing her of sleeping with other men before grabbing her by the arm.
Miss Lees said he then put the woman through a series of rape attacks which spanned between 10.
15am and 3.
30pm.
‘The attacks were fuelled by his jealousy.
During the day he took her mobile phone and began to look at the text messages and accuse her of receiving them from other men.
‘
Throughout her ordeal he continued to accuse her of sleeping with other men, jurors were told.
The woman later made a complaint to Fulham Police Station but when Christian was arrested he maintained that she had instigated sexual intercourse every time.
But on November 11 he turned up at her home again and ‘subjected her to physical and sexual abuse,’.
The terrified woman finally broke free of Christian and she managed to barricade herself and her daughter in the bathroom.
Christian managed to force the door slightly ajar and he tried to stab her with a small knife through the opening.
Eventually he fled but she was so fearful he was still in the flat that she did not emerge from the bathroom for a day.
By then her concerned relatives had called police and they had to force their way into the flat to find the frightened mum and daughter.
Christian was charged but several weeks later he bullied the woman to drop the charges by threatening to suffocate her three-year-old daughter.
He denied four charges of rape, one indecent assault, and two of intimidating a witness, but was found guilty by an 11-1 majority.
He was given seven years for the rapes and three years consecutively for the other offences.
