A mother sobbed as she told how a painter and decorator raped her after she tried to help him with his problems.

The 34-year-old tried to talk things through with
Lloyd Buckley, 30, but he threw her on to on to her bed and tore off her tracksuit bottoms and knickers, it is claimed.

The well-spoken single mother said she had only met Buckley a couple of times socially before she was raped.

‘I was at first reluctant to meet him because Shepherd’s Bush is quite notorious for a lot of drug users and alcoholics,’ she told Blackfriars Crown Court.

When she met him he seemed quite upset – and he was talking so loud as they walked home that she feared he would wake the neighbours.

The mother said Buckley started ‘moaning about his job’ when they got inside her home in Shepherds Bush.

She told him to quit if he was not happy but he shouted at her not to get involved.

‘I was quite shocked.

I felt I needed to talk to him if he wasn’t happy, and he should not have come,’ she recalled.

‘I motioned for him to sit down so that I could talk to him.

‘To my surprise he lunged at me and pushed me backwards into a sleeping position on the futon.

‘He was on top of me.

I was quite shocked.

I thought he was messing around and I said: ”We need to talk”.

‘He just pressed his body down on me and pinned me down with his chest and his legs.

‘I kept telling him to stop.

I still thought he was messing around, and he would sit up and we would talk.

‘He didn’t stop and he started to kiss me on the lips.

I said: ”I don’t like it”.

‘He pressed his body further down on me to keep me still.

Then he put his knee in between my legs.

‘

‘I started crying.

I knew he wasn’t going to stop.

I knew I could not get him off and so I started crying because I thought he might stop.

She was unable to say how long her ordeal lasted but said: ‘It seemed like forever.

‘

‘I don’t know if he felt his conscience because I was crying, but I kept telling him to stop and he got up.

‘

Buckley then got off the sofa bed.

‘I was in such pain,’ the mother said.

‘I put my knees up to my chest and I was crying.

I said I can’t afford to have sex, because I’ll get pregnant, and he didn’t say anything.

The woman said she decided to go to bed.

‘As I turned to get up he was back on top of me from behind.

He had intercourse with me again.

‘I just kept telling him to stop’.

After he finished, Buckley ‘jumped up’ and she went to have a bath.

‘He seemed very anxious and I couldn’t understand what he said.

‘I thought he might push my head under the water,’ she recalled.

‘I said this is rape.

He started shouting at the top of his voice and prancing up and down.

‘

After the victim assured Buckley she would not go to police, he left, but she then dialed 999.

Buckley, of Johnstone Road, Kilburn, denies two charges of rape.

He claims he had consensual sex with the woman.
