A shamed lawyer today (Tuesday) admitted taking part in a pnds stlng 425,000 sting on a Korean developer.

Victim Hoe Jeung paid the cash to solicitor Susan Barry-Davies as a deposit against the pnds stlng 5 million he hoped to raise to purchase and develop a golf course in Surrey.

However, Barry-Davies admitted she and businessman Andreas Kitallides misapplied the funds.

At London’s Southwark Crown Court, the 53-year-old lawyer, of Cottingham Avenue, Horsham, West Sussex pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud Mr Jeung between March 1993 and October 1998.

The charge represents cash paid to Barry-Davies as a deposit for a loan facility.

Jeung was planning to raise capital to purchase the designer course at Eyhurst Farm, Kingswood, Surrey, and attract wealthy Far Eastern businessmen as members.

Judge Stephen Robbins adjourned sentence until November 26 but remanded Barry-Davies on conditional bail.
