Death bus driver faces retrial
An Albanian bus driver accused of killing a property executive by dangerous driving outside London Victoria Station is facing a retrial. Mirsime Berisha, 49, was said to have made a ‘simple mistake’ of confusing her pedals when she applied ‘maximum acceleration’ and fatally struck 56-year-old Kathleen Finnegan. But the driver claimed nothing happened when she yanked on the handbrake. Berisha, of Ealing in west London, denied one count of causing death by dangerous driving on 29 January 2024.
