A postman needed hospital treatment after he was savaged by a Staffordshire bull terrier, a court heard. Karl Johns was delivering a package to an address in Hounslow, west London, when the dog leapt up and sunk its teeth into his right arm. Mr Johns was taken to hospital where he was given penicillin and painkillers.
