MOASO:TEENAGER KNIFED REVELLER AFTER GANG MEMBER ASKED IF HE WAS GAY

A teenager stabbed a reveller three times in an unprovoked attack after a gang member asked him: ‘Are you gay?’, a court heard.

Guelor Moaso, 18, allegedly lunged at 37-year-old David Farrer with a knife in his clenched fist after confronting him on the canal towpath at Camden Lock, north London, jurors were told.

The victim, a customer care adviser, was with a man in the secluded area when Moaso and three friends disturbed them, Blackfriars Crown Court heard.

One of Mr Farrer’s group was asked about his sexuality before hooded Moaso approached him asking: ‘Are you all right?’, it is said.

The victim replied: ‘I’m okay,’ before the alleged thug seemed to punch him in the leg and chest.

But he had been stabbed and was hospitalised for four days.

Mr Farrer had been to the Black Cap gay bar with a friend and got chatting to two other men.

Three of them left together in the early hours of Valentine’s Day and went to the towpath.

‘I entered the archway and he approached me and asked how I was doing,’ said Mr Farrer.

‘I replied: ‘I’m okay.’

‘I didn’t do anything, I was standing there.

‘He struck me. It was a jabbing sensation.

‘It just felt like a shove, then he punched me in the chest.

‘Again, it just felt like a shove.

‘The gentleman in the grey hoodie ran away, back towards the canal and turned right.

‘I wasn’t sure what had happened.

‘Then I felt stinging in my leg and looked down and felt blood coming through my jeans.

‘Once I noticed that, I looked at my top and there was blood coming from my chest.

‘I called out to my friend saying: ‘I’ve been stabbed.’

Some of the confrontation was captured on CCTV after cameras trailed Moaso walking up Camden High Street with three others.

Moaso was arrested two days’ later at his home and police found clothes they claim he was wearing at the time of the attack.

He refused to answer questions in interview, jurors heard.

Moaso, of Maitland Park Road, Belsize Park, denies wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on February 14, this year.

The trial continues.
