Punch up at the night club

A musician who kicked and punched a nightclub door during a drunken night out was let off with a fine.

Drew Mills, 19, was ejected from the Be At One in Hammersmith after one of his friends was sick in the early hours of April 30.

Mills was shown kicking and punching the door causing the glass pane to crack, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.

When police arrived on the scene Mills grabbed a police officer attempting to pull him away.

Mills, of Hounslow, admitted criminal damage and obstructing a police officer.

In a written letter of apology Mills offered his ‘deepest regret and remorse’ for his actions.

Mills said he prides himself as being the role model in his family.

Zoe Heron, defending, said Mills ‘was a previous candidate in a by election in Hillingdon as a representative of the youth in the area.’

Mills was fined £100 for criminal damage and £70 for obstructing a police officer. He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation for the damage to the door, making £270 in total.

District Judge Briony Clarke told him: ‘This was completely unacceptable behaviour.

‘I suspect the people behind the door felt quite scared. It was unacceptable and not an impression you want to set for your siblings as you describe yourself as being their role model.

‘Don’t get yourself in this situation again’.
