RANGER: BUSINESSMAN IN COURT ACCUSED OF DEALING IN MISSILES
A businessman accused of dealing in surface-to-air missiles in breach of export controls appeared in court today (Weds).
Michael Ranger, 64, is said to have been involved in shipping the portable infrared homing missiles from North Korea to Azerbaijan, an embargoed destination.
Ranger appeared before City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court to answer allegations he breached arms export controls set down by the 2008 Export Control Order.
His case was due to be committed to the crown court today but was adjourned to allow further inquiries to be made.
He was released on bail with a £200,000 surety and subject to a 8pm to 5am curfew.
Ranger, of (Frogs Hall) Bambers Green, Takeley, Bishops Stortford, Herts, will next appear before magistrates on September 7.
