Reality star ‘racially abused granddaughter of Auschwitz survivor’

A Real Housewives of Cheshire star yelled anti-Semitic abuse at the granddaughter of an Auschwitz survivor – then said she was not racist, a court heard.

Dawn Ward, 48, who is married to ex-Premier League footballer Ashley Ward, allegedly shouted ‘Jewish c–t’ at Jake Jacobs, 26, at Euston railway station on 29 October 2019.

Mr Jacobs, Samantha Eisner, and his brother Sam Jacobs had asked why the trains had been delayed, jurors heard, prompting Ward to say ‘Why do you lot always complain?’

Ward allegedly yelled ‘Jewish c–t’ and ‘you fat pr–k’ before slapping Jake across the face, Inner London Crown Court, sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice, was told.

The reality star was found to have cocaine in a cigarette packet, jurors have heard.

Sam Jacobs, brother of Jake, told the jury today (Thurs) ‘We were inquiring about the trains being delayed and, out of nowhere, a woman came up to us from behind.

‘A random person, no idea who this person is.

‘She look at all three of us and said: “Why do you lot always complain?”’

The trio were confused by the question, so Jake Jacobs asked Mrs Ward what she meant.

Sam said: ‘She said: “Shut up, you Jewish c-nt.”

He said she was ‘hurling abuse, a lot of words coming through towards Samantha.

‘She said: “Shut up, you f*cking disease.’

‘It was a lot of horrible abuse directed at all three of us.

‘After the slap, Jake immediately call the police. He walked away.

‘Samantha wasn’t necessarily speaking to her apart from saying “Calm down, calm down.”

‘The words were being slurred, we could tell she was intoxicated.

‘She kept repeating several times “Let me explain, I’m not a racist” and to me, she was right, that was antisemitic.

‘She just kept trying to explain that she is not racist.

‘It made me feel very upset.

‘I’m a Jewish person and proud of it and in today’s society I do not expect these comments to be spoken about any religion.’

Samantha Eisner said: ‘I didn’t notice her until she started speaking to us at the information desk.

‘She said “Why are you lot always complaining?” and I replied “What do you mean?”

Prosecutor Gregory Wedge asked: ‘Did you know what she meant by you lot?’

‘Not at the time but as it went on it became clear it was towards our religion’ said Ms Eisner.

‘She said to the boys “You Jewish c-nts”, she then continued to say to me that I was a little disease.

‘We didn’t have much of a response, we were shocked, we were upset, I was really really upset by the whole thing.

‘My grandpa was in Auschwitz, he survived Auschwitz, and you think at this time that it’s stopped, but it’s still going on.

‘I think we were all in shock, it was awful, it was the last thing you expect to happen, we were really really shocked.

‘She seemed to be, perhaps on drugs, or drunk alcohol, or something.

‘Mrs Ward kept on saying “I’m not a racist, I’m not a racist.”

‘I’m already an anxious person, and it has made me even more anxious having to deal with everything.’

Ward, of Warford Hall, Cheshire, wearing a cream-coloured patterned shirt and tan trousers, sat at the back of the courtroom next to her husband, who played for Derby County and Barnsley in the Premier League in the 90s.

The celebrity interior designer denies two charges of racially and religiously aggravated harassment, causing alarm, or distress and possession of cocaine.

Warford Hall, her £14.5 million mansion in Alderley Edge was designed by W. Roberts, dates back to 1867 and is regularly featured on the show.
