‘Stupid’ NHS worker booked holidays on employer’s account

An NHS worker who booked £30,000 worth of flights and hotels on his employer’s account was spared jail by a judge who called him ‘one of the most stupid defendants’ he had seen. Jamie Kasebante, 28, abused the NHS corporate account for seven months while working as an assistant project manager. Kasebante resorted to fraud when he applied for a more senior role and learnt his manager wrote a negative reference for him, describing it as a ‘promotion too far’….
