A brutal rapist who dubbed himself ‘the devil’ has been jailed for
seven years for subjecting a friend to a savage Christmas Day sex
attack.

Jay Baddoo, 33, used violence and chilling threats to make the 51-
year-old woman submit to a night-long ordeal of rape, degrading sex
acts and beatings.

When she managed to summon help to her Fulham home, he told police
it was her ‘Christmas surprise.

‘
Judge Brian Capstick QC said the ‘sexual indignities’, repeated
sex and internal injuries he caused his victim made it ‘a particularly
serious case of rape.

‘
Late on Christmas Eve last year Baddoo was at her flat.

She had been doing the washing up when he went behind her and
gave her a warm hug, which she took to be nothing more than a
seasonal embrace.

But soon after he threatened to slit her throat, jurors at the
Old Bailey were told.

And at one stage he pulled her head to his and chillingly
announced: ‘You know what is there.

The devil is there.

‘
Baddoo then throttled her almost into unconsciousness and subjected
her to a ‘bizarre and frightening’ sex ordeal that only ended when a
friend phoned a Christmas greeting the next morning.

She whispered a desperate SOS.

She was being raped again when the
police arrived.

He denied but was convicted of rape.

Judge Capstick was told Baddoo had not caused any serious injury
and had no previous convictions for sexual offences.

The judge told him: ‘There are aggravating features in this case.

‘The victim was subjected to sexual indignities, there was more
than one rape and she was injured internally.

‘This was a bad case of rape.
