Coroner criticises hospital after teenager death

A coroner has criticised doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital for failing to take responsiblility for the post-operative care of a schoolgirl who died after surgery. Amy Allan, 14, died at the world famous children’s hospital on 28 September 2018 after she underwent an operation to cure a worsening curvature of her spine. The ‘inspirational’ schoolgirl, whose memory is honoured with a first aid award in her name, may have died after doctors took her off the ventilator too soon…
