Police worker faces trial over £300k fraud

A police worker accused of helping fraudsters steal £300,000 from bank accounts by cloning company directors’ email addresses have been ordered to stand trial next year. Thomas Dappa, 40, who works in the Met’s Referencing and Vetting Unit, denies two charges relating to a series of ‘sophisticated’ frauds and money laundering. Today (Mon) he appeared in the dock at Southwark Crown Court alongside four fellow alleged fraudsters, Ahmed Otun, 41, Kolade Roberts, 43, Okwudili Chinze, 43, and Dennis Bean, 66….
