Scottish Brexit Bill is unconstitutional

The UK’s highest court has ruled Scotland’s alternative Brexit Bill is unconstitutional. The ‘Continuity’ bill was the Scottish Parliament’s challenge to Prime Minister Theresa May’s UK-wide withdrawal legislation. Nicola Sturgeon, head of the Scottish National Party, believes Holyrood will lose powers to London following the United Kingdom’s exiting of the European Union under Mrs May’s proposal. But the Supreme Court ruled parts of the bill fell outside of Holyrood’s powers, after arguments from lawyers representing the UK and Scottish governments….
